Mrs. Elena Espinosa presents to Dauro the award for the best olive oil.

Agustin Santoloya, General Director of Dauro was in charge of collecting the award from the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture D. Josep Puxeu.

The Minister of Agriculture Mrs. Elena Espinosa presented the award to the best Spanish extra virgen olive oil 2009-2010. Dauro won the prize in the category of ripe and fruity. These awards aim to promote and rise awareness of Spanish virgin olive oil with the highest quality of flavour and encourage producers to obtain and sell quality oils.

 

Dauro olive oil is 10 years old with its vintage 2009. He was a pionner in Spain of high quality oils and create style in the panorama of Spanish olive oil.
Dauro, just like wines, is able to convey feelings in each vintage climate that has lived, is obtained as an oil with different characteristics from year to year. Dauro is developed following the concept of "Chateau" as oil production comes from a single farm located in the Alt Empordą (Girona).
On the other hand, never mix oils one year with another, so that as the best wine productions correspond to a particular vintage.
The state owns 110 hectares under cultivation of arbequina, hojiblanca and koroneiki varieties.
